Inspiration:
A branch of the flowering almond tree (plunua teiloba) with a graceful composition of pink flowers and leaves. When blooming, it looks almost surreal, especially the one closest to my home, as it is surrounded by concrete and modernist blocks of flats. I painted it in the middle of one spring night this year, after stealing a tiny bit of this tree, like a proper thief, during a night walk in my neighbourhood. This was one of the first paintings, where the plants I painted became more three-dimentional, gaining more weight and volume. I hadn’t really painted tree branches in this manner before, and since that moment, I started painting way bolder compositions.
Technical information:
Original watercolor painting on high quality watercolor paper, 21x29 cm. Painting comes unframed.
Images:
I add photos of the framed painting in the natural light, so it is easier to picture them in the interior. However, please consider that colors will appear different from screen to screen, they also vary depending on the light setup and will present differently in the frame of your choice :)
Note: As I never waste a sheet of paper, sometimes the other side of the painting may feature splashes of paint or even another painting, one deemed by myself for some reason too imperfect (that’s quite cruel but it happens)
