Intense peony

Inspiration:
This painting was one of my attempts to capture the dynamic structure of the leaves of the peony bush, not only focusing on the obviously captivating flower. I was trying to let it go a bit more than usual, using a lot of water and bold brushstrokes. The flower itself is intense, half-opened (with some of the petals still curled in the ball-shaped bud inside), but framed within the bush of the leaves, not much less interesting in their opulence and shapes.

Original watercolor painting on high quality watercolor paper, 21x29 cm. Painting comes unframed.

I add photos of the framed painting in the natural light, so it is easier to picture them in the interior. However, please consider that colors will appear different from screen to screen, they also vary depending on the light setup and will present differently in the frame of your choice :)

Note: As I never waste a sheet of paper, sometimes the other side of the painting may feature splashes of paint or even another painting, one deemed by myself for some reason too imperfect (that’s quite cruel but it happens)
