Purple peony

Inspiration:
This peony was 100% painted from memory / imagination. I was trying to let it go a bit more than usual, using a lot of water and bold brushstrokes. The flower is hidden within the bush, as peonies are growing surrounded by their own leaves, not much less interesting than the flowers in their opulence and shapes.

Technical information:
Original watercolor painting on high quality watercolor paper, 21x29 cm. Painting comes unframed.

I add photos of the framed painting in the natural light, so it is easier to picture them in the interior. However, please consider that colors will appear different from screen to screen, they also vary depending on the light setup and will present differently in the frame of your choice :)

Note: As I never waste a sheet of paper, sometimes the other side of the painting may feature splashes of paint or even another painting, one deemed by myself for some reason too imperfect (that’s quite cruel but it happens)
